art & life lessons

The “sucking” part of learning is always the worst. I’ve been ~ frustrated.depressed.annoyed~ with watercolour lately. The disconnect between what’s in my head and what ends up being realized is still a Grand Canyon sized divide. This is learning though. This is growth. This is what it is to work in a medium new to you.
The life lessons though, threaded through the medium are abundant. It always amazes me that something like pigment and water, texture and concept can so thoroughly teach and re-teach patience, kindness, micromanagement, and loosening self-criticism to name a few.
I know I’ll get there … that I just need to keep on keeping on. Keep on friends. And thanks for always inspiring me with your posts.
