What was in the water musically in 2013 and 2014, and why was every album outrageously exceptional?
I listen to a lot of music. Always have. One of my earliest, most favourite memories is being around 4 and visiting my grandparents. I'd burst in the door and make a beeline for the vinyl, grab Nat King Cole, put it on, and no adult could move me until at least 1 or 2 playthroughs
One of my favourite groups, Jungle, has a new album coming out in 2 days (squee) and it got me reminiscing about when I first heard them. I was happily transported back to July 2014, at a local DJ show in Vancouver with a group of friends, and a few tracks from their debut album played. I was hooked, literally stopped in my tracks. I was that little kid again that no adult could move until I consumed every track on the album multiple times.
I stayed in that memory for a bit, and got to thinking about what else dominated my playlist at that time, (and, honestly, they are *all* still staples on my playlist). I started listing albums that came to mind
but then ...more...just kept coming to mind. On and on...they just kept coming, like when you crack a door open and a herd of puppies barg through, and you can't...count them...all.

What's on your list of favourite artists or albums from these years? I'm convinced that nearly everything released in 2013 or 2014 in any genre was infused with space energy awesomeness.
